Located in Azumino surrounded by the comfort of nature, Kongō-ji is the head temple in Japan of the Taiko sect of Korean Buddhism.
Composed of the copper-roofed “Daiyūden” main hall accommodating more than 150 people and an annex “Sanseikaku” enshrining Sanjin, Shichiseijin, and Dokusei, the temple complex has a solemn atmosphere.
Kongō-ji is a majestic temple succeeding the lineage of Korean Buddhism.

Shukubō Seiho-in was renovated in April 2018 and became a shukubō allowing more people can relax and enjoy their time.
Guests are able to enjoy the natural hot springs with a low alkaline level while also having the chance to experience prayer and the recitation of sutras.
This quiet shukubō is not only for temple visitors but also for the general public.
